My favorite thing about this is that it can be orange, and that in and of itself provides many options: orangecello, orange curaçao, orange juice, orange soda, even a blend of something yellow and something red. I’m also interested in using High West bourbon or rye to tie into the name, and there’s also a brand called Leopold Brothers, based in Colorado, that make, among other things, a lime cordial and an aperitvo. Another potentially interesting jumping-off point is the classic cocktail called the Horse’s Neck, made of whiskey, ginger ale, and lemon. Also, since the name is taken from a Sean Payton phrase, there’s a snarky part of me that wants to sneak in a Bounty-gate reference, maybe something coconut (like the candy bar), or there’s also apparently a Bounty rum from St Lucia.
